The Inspiration Behind Soil Builder™
We developed Soil Builder™ out of frustration with the poor quality and short lifespan of conventional composts and mulches available to gardeners and landscapers. They simply weren’t delivering long-term value to the soil.

Soil Builder™ is the result of a long-standing commitment to regenerative practices, careful observation of natural systems, and a passion for working with the land rather than against it.
Arlo Mitchell
Founder of Greencube Landscapes & Gardens and co-developer of Soil Builder, Arlo brings decades of landscape and horticultural experience in South Africa, the UK, and the USA. His practical, soil-first approach has shaped gardens across climates, and now supports Soil Builder’s mission to regenerate tired, depleted soil.
Sarchen Bassingthwaighte
Sarchen’s background in landscape design, natural systems, and soil ecology shaped the thinking behind Soil Builder. Drawing on decades of work in regenerative gardens and a passion for soil-first principles, she helped create a product that supports life below the surface – and thriving, resilient gardens above it.
